Road teams in basketball are actually easier to pick out than you might think.  Because of the home court advantage, home teams usually have huge chalk they give up every game.  Whereas a road team would just have to keep the game close in order to win against the spread.

Of course, you want to select a road team that has a likelihood of winning the game but when you are double digit underdog, seeing your team lose by 6 is easy pickings.  But isn't it easier to find a road team that has a chance to win the game outright that determining whether your explosive home team will win by 9 points or not?

But what are the road teams you want to look for?  The following sports betting example will help give you an idea of what to look out for in a road team that will keep a game close or get the squeaker upset.

Double digit underdog with double or triple revenge on the season.  Their opponent will likely take this game off and focus on their next opponent.  The road team will keep it close.   In addition, you might consider a medium sized underdog with an opponent that is either on 0 days rest or may be looking ahead to their very next game.
